Cook Time 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • Handful of mint leaves
  • Few stalks of lemon grass lili-cha, cut in one inch pieces
  • A small handful of tulsi leaves
  • A piece of ginger
  • A piece of fresh turmeric
  • Lemon juice
  • Jaggery or honey to sweeten

Method

  1. Wash the leaves well.
  2. Skin the ginger and turmeric and cut them in chunks.
  3. In a mortar and pestle put the leaves and ginger-turmeric.
  4. In a saucepan place 4 cups of water to boil.
  5. Add the pounded mixture.
  6. If using jaggery, add now.
  7. Boil the herb infused water for 5-7 minutes.
  8. In a coffee mug, add 2 tablespoons of lemon juice and honey to taste.
  9. Stir well and drink piping hot.

Notes

If using jaggery, use organic jaggery. I prefer honey as it can be directly added to the serving glass. All the proportions can be adjusted to taste and availability. If you do not have couple of ingredients no worries, make the drink with whatever is handy.
